Clarisonic Acne Clarifying Collection – Upcoming Review

Yesterday, I woke up to some good news: I won the Clarisonic Acne Clarifying Collection giveaway sponsored by Beauty Logic blog!!!

Developed by the innovators behind the Sonicare Toothbrush, the Clarisonic Skin Care Systems consist of oscillating brushes, of various sizes, that are said to remove 6x more makeup and other impurities from skin than washing by hand.

A favorite among estheticians and dermatologists alike, among fans of the Clarisonic Systems are CosmoLatina Beauty Editor, Milly Almodovar (Founder/Editor of Beautylogic), and Ms. Oprah Winfrey.  Calling it a “must-have” for beauty enthusiasts, Milly sings the Clarisonic’s highest praises.  She explains that because the Clarisonic thoroughly cleanses skin, application of beauty products is much more effective since they can better penetrate the deeply-cleansed skin.  Oprah says simply: “It’s a miracle massage for your face.”

The Acne Clarifying Collection, the latest system developed by the folks at Clarisonic, consists of the Mia 2 with the special Acne Cleansing Brush Head and the Acne Daily Clarifying Cleanser.  The Mia 2 is a later generation of their portable Mia model that features 2 speeds for improved cleansing.

As a long-time follower of Beautylogic Blog, I’ve had my eyes on these pricey cleansing systems for a couple of years now.  But alas, a motorized cleansing brush that starts at just under $200 USD simply wasn’t in this former public interest paralegal turned entrepreneur’s budget.  Furthermore, I’m a firm believer in my Food Guru, Kimberly Snyder’s philosophy “Outer beauty is a reflection of inner health.”  That’s not to say that I don’t use beauty products, but the foundation really should be one’s diet.

Over the years, my skin has improved tremendously as I’ve adopted a plant-based whole foods diet and overall healthier lifestyle.  However, a recent brief departure from my typically healthy diet coupled with increased stress levels and less sleep have taken their toll on my skin.   So winning this giveaway couldn’t have come at a better time!  Not sure I’ll use the clarifying cleanser since acne isn’t really an issue for me, but I’m looking forward to seeing what impact the Mia 2 has on my skin’s health and appearance.

Check back in a couple of weeks for my review of the Clarisonic Mia 2!

Lovely readers, have any of you tried any of the Clarisonic Systems?  Does it live up to the hype?
